The weekend I have been looking forward to for months (since February) has finally come and gone. First of all, thanks to Canon, Moshi, and FC for the room providing and everyone else for the first great experience at Fanime.  I’m thinking about going back again, but we will see since it is situational basis and I’m college. Although I do believe I’m out of the semester year the week before Fanime starts.

As for the cosplays, they are revealed in the text below and will make an appearance at AX. You can find me in one of them on a specific magical girl gathering video or even photos.

After more than a month progress and laziness. I (ALMOST) FINISHED IT.

Could improve this a lot though, but this will be the V1 version of it. V2 would involve a finished paint coat and darker/less obnoxious/smaller balls. It’ll go as unpainted, so lucky me for buying grey foam from the start.

The almost part is the aesthetics part on the side as you see in the second photo of the cardboard lacking the foam. I’m planning to put one more layer of foam to cover that imperfection

This will probably be the last WIP update for this. Forever lazy to assemble, but really simple. I think though I’ve over done it and there was probably an easier way to do this, but oh well.

Learned 

• Colors and glue hate each other when mixed.
• Especially this weird black paint I got from Rite Aid.
• Sensitive to water/liquid derp because I used water colored paints.
• Adding a glue coat over the paint with little brush strokes as possible seems to seal the paint job?
• This shouldn’t have taken a month or weeks to do.

Hoping that when I test it tomorrow, I won’t have to adjust it drastically. Worried about the non speaker side.

For this week and into the next till I leave, I set up a deadline timetable for me in getting the props done in order before next Wednesday. So far… it worked yesterday. Today, not so much.

Shield - Got the red styrofoam balls painted red somehow. I can glue that on soon yay. I still need to glue the center piece and run it over with a black pen or something. Oh yeah that’s new since I didn’t post an update on the shield since yesterday for that. Also, might go unpainted/foamy for fanime and may finish it properly for AX. Not sure what am I doing for the middle center piece, pretty much improvising at this point /sigh

Headphones - Well thanks to me screwing with it on sunday, glue or liquid doesn’t play nicely with the black paint I’m using. Repainted it and mixed in a glue coat with it. Hopefully that’ll fix the problem. Headset is now fixed in on one side (glued), now I need to fix in the headband for the other side and re-enforce it to make sure it doesn’t fall out.

TL;DR - Shield is 75% done for fanime, 60% for AX. Headphones are 65% done as well permanently (hopefully)

Well… I finally have something after a month.

1.5 weeks left. Well shit.

Well finally got my ass off and cut the pieces. Yay for free time at school! Still trying to figure out how am I going to make the middle circle part. This is a rough outline btw, nothing is glued down yet.

Oh yeah, I need to get the paint for it still. ffffff
